Canning jars are built to withstand a tremendous amount of heat. In addition to being boiled for canning jams and pickles, did you know they can also be baked in the oven as adorable, portable cakes in a jar?

“Start with two-and-one-half cups of fresh seasonal fruit. Put those into four half-pint canning jars. Combine one half-cup of flour, one half-cup of sugar and one half-teaspoon salt. Whisk it together with a fork and pour it on the fruit, and then top with butter. Once your jars are filled, move them to a square baking dish. Fill the inside of the baking dish with some dried beans to keep the jars from sliding around. Bake it at 350 for one hour. After baking, let the jars cool completely. I like to put a little whipped cream on top and, if you like, you can keep them in the fridge for up to a week. They make a great gift, and they are awesome for a picnic.”

香蕉醋的制作方法
材料:
(1)香蕉1-2根,
(2)红糖,颜色越深越好(最好用黑糖),
(3)再加上 水果醋或米醋。
做法:
1. 把香蕉切成1-2厘米的薄片。

2. 找一个可以密封的罐子,先放入红糖。
3. 倒入水果醋(或用米醋)倒满罐子。
4. 把果醋和红糖搅匀。
5. 放入切好的香蕉片。
6. 盖上密封盖,密封24小时候就可以吃了。

香蕉醋食用方法
每天饮用3汤匙香蕉醋,可直接喝或用冷开 水稀释,
你可以分配在早、午、晚各1汤匙,
顺便吃醃渍过的香蕉。饭前食用,
肠胃不好的人建议饭后10分钟再食用较好。

Mint Oreo Layer Dessert
Serves 12
Ingredients
  • 1 (15 oz) package Oreo Mint Crème Cookies
  • 1/2 c. butter, melted
  • 2 (3.9 oz.) packages Instant Chocolate Pudding
  • 3 1/4 cup cold milk
  • 2 (8 oz.) containers Cool Whip
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • Green Food Coloring
Instructions
  • 1
    Place the Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until crushed. (You could also put the cookies in a ziplock bag and crush them with a rolling pin). Reserve 1/2 cup of the crushed Oreo crumbs for topping.

    Pour remaining crumbs into a 9×13” baking dish. Drizzle the melted butter over the Oreo crumbs and gently toss with a spoon. Press the mixture firmly into the pan to form a crust.

    In a large bowl whisk together the chocolate pudding mixes and milk. Refrigerate.

    In another bowl blend together the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in one container of Cool Whip. Add one drop of green food coloring, if desired.

    Gently spread this mixture evenly over the Oreo crust. Pour chocolate pudding over the cream cheese mixture and smooth into an even layer.

    Dollop small spoonfuls of the remaining Cool Whip over the top of the pudding and gently smooth it into an even layer. Sprinkle reserved Oreo crumbs on top.

    Refrigerate until ready to serve. (Sometimes I even put it in the freezer, then remove it about 20-30 minutes before I serve it.)
